DS Winnipesaukee Smelt

Tied a few streamers today. Here is my representation of the Winnipesaukee Smelt that was originated by Jim Warner. I tied it on a size 6 streamer. Body is flat silver tinsel, underwing white FisHair, then 4 peacock herls and finally purple FisHair mixed with purple flashabou.

Beautiful Day on the Lake

Was a great day to be on the lake ice fishing. Temperature was around 30, sun out and no wind! Got out around 8:00 and left at 3:30. Early morning bite was OK. Caught a 19 inch lake trout.

And a couple white perch.

To past the time between bites I tied up a few Adam Parachutes in the bob house. Gotta fill the fly box so I'm ready to go once the ice and snow leaves.

Ice Fishing in New Hampshire

We're now into ice fishing season here in New Hampshire. We catch several types of fish including white and yellow perch, lake trout, rainbow trout, small mouth bass and cusk. Here's Larry with a white perch which is a great eating fish.

With 18 inches plus of ice you can find us traveling out to our bobhouses in may types of vehicles.

Spending a day in the wood heated bobhouse fishing is a great way to relax after a long week of work.
